Based in Ho Chi Minh City, John will head the Viet Nam Industrial Services Department, an expanding and dynamic team of eight people between Ha Noi and HCMC. He said: “I’m thrilled to continue building our service line and cement our position as the leading industrial real estate agency in the country. Our team is growing rapidly and is determined to deliver best-in-class property consultancy to manufacturing and logistics investors and occupiers, in addition to servicing new segments like data centres, cold storage and R&D.”
John joined Savills in 2017 and established the Industrial Services Department, further strengthening Savills position and leadership in the Vietnamese market. To date, the team has brokered leasing deals across 560,000 m2 and sales and investment deals spanning 495,000 m2.
Since 2017, the department’s delivery capabilities and offerings have grown immensely. For example, John and his team offer market-leading landlord advisory, tenant representation, strategic leasing, investment brokerage and sales and leaseback expertise across industrial properties. They do this by working closely with the regional team and across business lines like Advisory, Research and Investment, as well as utilising cutting-edge technology like Power BI. Their innovative approach means that they have brokered an array of leasing and investment transactions representing more than US$92,107,000. This coupled with John’s calm disposition and ambitious outlook all contribute to Savills mission of strengthening its position in this sector throughout the ASEAN region.
John is a chartered member of RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) and is a graduate of the University of Limerick, Ireland. Prior to working at Savills, John worked at Aden Services, an integrated facilities management company as a business development executive. This experience and his detailed understanding of the Vietnamese Industrial sector allow him to lead his team confidently and offer clients high-quality solutions which meet their needs.
Neil MacGregor, Managing Director, Savills Viet Nam, commented: “John has led his team from strength to strength since starting in 2017. His incredibly strong understanding of local market dynamics will continue to be of great value to our clients. The industrial market in Viet Nam is booming, with manufacturing and processing attracting US$18.12 billion of registered FDI in 2021 or 58% of the national total. This represents a 25% increase compared to last year. This along with steady M&A deals, supply improvements, and increasingly high-value industries, create an incredibly dynamic environment for John and his team.”
